# Privacy

Information

## In short

No advertising tracker, no audience measurement cookie, no script loaded from another site. We only record what you send us.

## When you write to us

The “Feature your place” form records your name, your property, your email address, its website if you give it and your message, on our server in France, so that we can reply and follow our exchanges. These details and your message also reach the magazine's mailbox and our partner records.

- **Magazine mailbox** : OVHcloud
- **Partner records** : private repository hosted by GitHub (United States)

## When you sign up for our stories

We record your email address on our server in France. Sign-up is confirmed through a link sent by email, and every mailing carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Your address is only used to send you our stories.

## When you leave us a few words

Under a story, “Your words” records your first name, your text and, if you give it, your email address. Only the first name and the text are published, and only after we have read them; the email address is never shown.

## The server log

Like any web server, ours notes each visit: IP address, requested page, browser, referring site. We only draw totals from it, such as readers a month and reads by AI.

- **Log retention** : 12 months

## Your favorites

The places you add to your favorites stay in your browser, on your device. We have no access to them.

## Outside the European Union

Our partner records, with the messages from properties, are kept in a private repository at GitHub, in the United States. Published words are there too, with the rest of the site.

Our assistant reads the messages received in the magazine's mailbox, email address included, as well as our partner records and the words left under our stories (first name and text). It uses them to prepare our replies and the summaries it sends us on Telegram. To do so it relies on an AI model hosted outside the European Union, mostly in the United States, through OpenRouter, accepting only hosts that do not keep these texts to train a model.

## How long

- **Messages from properties** : 3 years after the last exchange on our server; in our partner records and the magazine's mailbox, for as long as our relationship lasts
- **Sign-up for our stories** : for as long as you stay subscribed; when you unsubscribe, the address is erased and only a coded trace remains, deleted 3 years later; without confirmation, the address is erased after 30 days
- **Words** : 3 years after the last exchange; a published word stays online with its story

## Your rights

The data is processed by Tom Rouchy, EI, who publishes the site. You can ask to see, correct or delete it by writing to us, and you can contact the CNIL, the French data protection authority, if our answer does not satisfy you.
